Q: What is the first thing to consider when redoing a backyard?
A: Everyone has different wants and needs to the amenities they want to put in their space. But no matter what items you want to put in the design an important thing to consider is how it interacts with your home. Views from your windows and doors are super important. While we talk about the exterior spaces, you really spend a majority of your time inside looking out. So these views are typically the first thing I considering during the design process.

Q: What services do you offer?
A: Every Landscape Designer has a different approach to design documents. I prefer to take a very detailed approach to my designs. A typical design set will be roughly 10-15 pages at minimum. I believe that having a detailed set will help avoid any confusion or mistakes during construction which could be very costly.

Q: Are there any ways to reduce construction costs?
A: Yes. Value engineering is a very common part of the process and is typically done with changes in materials. I would much rather change materials on the plan to offset costs than sacrifice the design you've already fell in love with.

Q: Can we see examples of your landscape designs
A: Yes! I encourage clients to meet with several designers and get examples of their work so you can compare "apples to apples". It's best to find a style and approach that works best for you. It is also important that you like the person you are working with. The process is supposed to be fun!
